Explosion-proof vision sensor
Explosion-proof vision sensor allows to collect visual data from a live feed in hazardous areas where there is a risk of explosion, for example, when working with flammable substances present in high concentrations in the form of gas, mist or vapor.
The Ex vision sensor is like a smart camera that can observe, select, adjust, and store colors and objects that appear in its visual field.
This sensor can be used to:
· recognizing colors and color patterns.
· follow an object.
· collect information about the environment.
The Ex vision sensor can also capture a snapshot of what is in front of it and analyze it according to what the user is asking. For example, a user can gather data from the snapshot such as, what color is the object ? Is there an object detected at all ? How large is the object (width and height) ?
The Ex vision sensor is capable of detecting up to 7 colours at once, including multi-coloured objects. Every 200 milliseconds, the camera provides a list of the object found matching up to eight unique colors. The object’s height, width, and location is provided. Multi-colored objects can also be programmed, allowing color codes to provide new information. Color-codes can represent anything, including location, object type, street signs, movement instructions, robot identifiers, etc.
The vision sensor uses a dual ARM M4/M0 processor for object detection at 50Hz. At its most basic mode it tells you where a colored object is located. The location's X value gives you the position right and left. When the camera is tilted down, the Y value gives you the distance to the object.
To calibrate the Ex vision sensor such that it will be able to locate objects of a particular color, simply connect it to a computer via a mini-USB cable. Special software is used for calibration. The user-calibrated color that the Vision Sensor tries to locate is known as a "signature". The Ex vision sensor can store seven signatures total
The Ex vision sensor is connected through an industrial USB 2.0 connector to an intrinsically safe barrier Ex USB 2.0.
The Ex vision sensor have a “hot-plug” function which allows them to be connected and disconnected without stopping, shutting down or rebooting the system.
