Explosion-proof Ex USB RS-485-IS converter
Explosion-proof USB RS-485-IS converter is designed for mutual conversion of USB and RS-485-IS interface signals. Allows you to connect a computer with an Ex USB port in explosive zones to the RS-485-IS industrial information network.
This device does not require a driver and does not install a virtual COM port*
*Note: This device does not work with applications designed to use a COM port.
It can send and receive data on a RS485 bus. In addition, it can also autonomously query devices (for instance using MODBUS)
The device is electrically isolated: it can be connected on an RS485 bus using a different ground circuit. The Ex USB RS-485-IS converter conforms to ANSI/TIA/EIA-485-A-98 and ISO 8482:1987(E) standards. In addition, the connection to the RS485 bus is protected against ESD up to ±16 kV (contact) and against electrical fast transients up to ±4kV.
This device can be connected directly to an Ethernet network, to a WiFi network and to a GSM network using special adapters.
Note: To use the Ex USB RS-485-IS converter in a hazardous area, the device must be protected to at least IP 65, so it must be placed inside the enclosure.
