Join our team as an R&D Workshop Manager, a permanent role with a leading company in HydITEx corporation. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering team, overseeing prototype system builds, managing workshop processes, and leading a team of technicians.
Your responsibilities will include managing a team of technicians, facilitating work shop builds of R&D projects, and handling deskbound operational tasks such as Health and Safety reports and equipment procurement. The ideal candidate will possess a background in electric and electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technicians to achieve engineering, project, and company targets.
Provide engineering feedback during builds and identify improvement opportunities.
Support the engineering team with builds, leveraging your experience to make informed component purchases.
Motivate, lead, and inspire the team in continuous improvement.
Follow detailed working instructions within the build manual, testing processes, and optimizing where possible.
Manage and plan workshop resources to ensure work requirements are met.
Maintain work shop stock and keep work shop processes up to date.
Monitor performance consistently and be responsible for work shop quality.
Supervise health and safety compliance across the work shop.
Use measuring equipment, including Spectrum Analyzer, Thermal Imager.
Job Requirements:
Excellent demonstrable 'hands-on' skills in an R&D environment.
Experience managing teams and the ability to lead and train a small team.
HND or equivalent working experience.
Experience in the field of explosion-proof technologies or hydrogen energy, adhering to industry standards, safety processes, and certification.
Ability to interpret engineering information in multiple formats.
Desirable experience:
IECEx Certification of Personnel Competencies (CoPC) or prior experience with Explosion-poof equipment.
Proactive approach to issue resolution and problem-solving with robust engineering solutions.
Understanding of electrical build and assembly processes.
Experience in low voltage wiring and a high-level understanding of electronics and battery technology.
